Dinner in The Living Room

A brand new venue that takes an age old concept, entertaining in The Living Room. This very unique, yet very familiar experience is located in the heart of the Peninsula, San Carlos.

Walking up to The Living Room, we passed a 2 seated set up with a dimly lite buffet lamp adorning the tabletop. Just from the window display alone, my excitement grew as I imagined what else could be in store. At the front we were welcomed by a very lovely and sweet hostess, as she asks for our reservation, I was pleasantly distracted by the catchy music in the background with a music video of a different song projected on the wall. Along with all the lights and signs, I felt like a squirrel not knowing where to focus, until I glimpsed at the lane of living rooms.

Upon reservation you decide which room you'd like to enjoy company in, with each selection holding a seating of 8. At a cost of $200 per reservation, you are able to enjoy 2 hours of laughter and comradery with your party and is used as credit towards food and drinks. Each room has a different theme, from classic with a moose head perched on the wall above a grand fireplace, to a game room with video game consoles that comes with the reservation. Come to find out, the window display is also seating where you can be on display and greet oncoming sidewalk traffic.

Every room has very warm inviting ambiance and is a wonderful space to entertain without the stress that comes with it. Let the bartenders, kitchen and wait staff make you feel at home. My favorite room had to be the Retro Living Room, that has a turn dial powder blue phone and 60's style fireplace. All that was missing was tv dinner tables to dine on.

Their food menu, although not extensive is meticulously curated with some great "living room" style apps to share and is packed with flavor. From a charcuterie board, to a delicious light salmon tartare and juicy hanging kabobs, everything was expertly prepared. Wash those dishes with one of their creative cocktails, I highly suggest the Hunters Old Fashion served with a smokey touch.

If you are torn between relaxing in the comfort of your own home or want to have a night out on the town, then this place for you. Grab some friends and family and head to the couch at The Living Room, i'm sure it will be a night to remember.
